Aimee’s 6th Birthday

Things have been busy so far in August and with school right around the corner it looks like it won’t get and slower for a while. On the 1st Aimee celebrated her 6th birthday. She wanted an ice cream cake so we headed over to Marble Slab and let her pick out the on that she wanted, swiss chocolate with peanut butter cups, YUM YUM YUM!!! Aimee and her cakeCaitlyn and Aimee decided to skip the whole birthday party thing this year and instead chose to spend a day in Galveston at Schlitterbaun. For those of you not lucky enough to be from Texas, Schlitterbaun is possibly the best waterpark that you will ever go to anywhere. It has HUGE body and tube slides and it takes at least a couple days to do everything that they have there. Anyway enough shameless promoting of a themepark, they opened one in Galveston recently and that is where the girls wanted to go. We had soo much fun. Even David had a lot of fun so much that he only napped once as opposed to the 3-4 he normally takes at home everyday. Some friends of ours the Taggerts went with 3 of their girls and James mom aka Bammy was in town and joined us too.
David is getting bigger everyday. Literally–he has his 9 month checkup this week and I am anxious to see what he weighs because by the end of our Church meetings my arms are usually numb from hauling him around. His favorite thing to do now is climb. He LOVES to climb the stairs and play up in the gameroom. I take that back he LOVES to climb on anything that he can get up on now. I have to admit that I am a little surprised at that differences that start in a boy at this age even. He will push a ball or car around on the tile forever without getting bored. We have a toy golfball that usually entertains him daily while I make dinner. While his sisters play dress-up upstairs. So fun though.

The girls are all doing great. I wish that I could figure out how to post videos of them to fully portray their personalities. Havana has decided that she can hula dance and looks like a bobble head doll more than Lilo. Lainey walks around singing ALL day long. Her own songs or any that she has learned. Aimee is the best big sister. I can always count on her for a set of extra hands with David. Caitlyn has read every book in our house and is working her way through her grandmother’s collection now. Anyone who knows my mom will know that her collection of books is well extensive to say the least.

All in all we have had a great summer and are looking forward to school starting. Aimee will be in first grade and Caitlyn in second AHHHHHH I am really getting to be old!!! Have a great week and enjoy the last days of summer.
